An Occasion for the Arts Celebrates Contemporary Artisans

October 2, 2010

Invitation to Artists

The City of Williamsburg Economic Development Authority (EDA), with Colonial Williamsburg, is hosting a Contemporary Artisan show on Saturday, October 2, 2010 - the day before An Occasion For The Art's juried art show on October 3rd.

Contemporary Artists and Artisans may apply to participate.  You must demonstrate and sell your work from 10 am - 4 pm that day on the lawn of the DeWitt Wallace museum, 326 W Francis Street, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185.  Colonial Williamsburg is offering free historic trade tickets to visitors to provide a link from the past (historic trades) to the contemporary (today's artisans).

The City of Williamsburg EDA, Colonial Williamsburg, and the College of William and Mary will invite the public to attend the event.  We encourage artists also to promote the event to potential attendees and customers.

Event will occur rain or shine.

Because this is our inaugural year, the application fee ($10) and the booth fee ($40) are low, and we are not charging commission on any sales.   We ask for everyone's help to make this a successful, quality event.

Applications are due August 15, 2010.
