State Tax Identification Number

A new business in Williamsburg must also get a state tax identification number in addition to a federal tax identification number. Businesses that collect sales taxes should also obtain a Certificate of Registration from the Virginia Department of Taxation to collect and remit sales taxes to the state. Much like federal taxes, corporations are also responsible for some degree of state taxation on income.
