February 2019 Business Roundtable: Economic Growth in 2019
William & Mary Professor Roy Pearson provided an Economic Outlook for 2019 at the February EDA Business Roundtable
Roy Pearson, business professor at William and Mary, provided a 2019 Economic Outlook at the February EDA Business Roundtable. Pearson shared good news with the group: The Commonwealth's Economic Outlook for 2019 remains positive (more so than can be said for the rest of the country), and that 2018 was a "stellar" year for the American Economy. He did end his presentation with a warning: Though we have a positive short-term outlook on the Virginia economy, the ever-growing national debt of $21 trillion could lead the Country into a recession by 2023.
The roundtable was attended by approximately 70 individuals representing the area business community as well as local government officials. The luncheon was sponsored by the City's Economic Development Authority and is a monthly event recurring on the second Tuesday of each month.
